Dope Album: Born Sinner
Wow! Where do I start with this album? One word to describe
it… CLASSIC. There is not one track you can or would want to skip over on this
album. With no rap features we get to see Cole’s complete arsenal and boy he delivered.
He produced the album almost entirely and it’s outstanding. There is real music
in these beats real strings real instruments and my favorite there is a real
choir. This album has classics up and down the track list. Let’s start with an
amazing track and my personal favorite “Let Nas Down”. In this song Cole gives
us one of his most transparent songs yet where he describes how he looked up to
Nas growing up and how when Nas was asked about Cole’s first single he claimed
to hate it. This is definitely worth your time. Imagine how dope a remix would
be with Nas on it!!! The intro is definitely another must listen making a
mockery of society and its sensitivity. “Ain’t that some shit” is definitely
something I feel you might be hearing in the clubs! “Crooked Smile” is the new “Keep
Your Head Up” with TLC on the hook this song will definitely resonate with lots
of people. As you can see I really liked this album. If you are a fan of
conscious rap this is a must listen. From the amazing production to the great
bridges this album is full of content and layered musically. I bet when you
listen to it you might have to run it back again. Cole World!!!
p.s: Kanye better bring it with “Yeezus”
